Today was hard. Hard in my soft place. I lost my wonder. It didn't wake up with me and that is a dead thing. I searched and searched and searched and pulled the blanket up over my head thinking that my sleep, the thief, had stolen it. In the night it was taken, to the night I returned to retrieve it. No use. Gone. And so I scraped along, willing myself to nourish, to find peace. For a moment, it came to me in sun form. A break of blue in the hail storm. The wind rushed to fill my empty ears with the where of where it had been. And I felt held and loved and sunkissed. It was enough to get by on. I'll take it.
